Abstract

In the context of modern developments, 3D printers are an important necessity in a world that is constantly developing. Although there is limited information about the strength of products produced by 3D printers, this tool is very suitable for realizing one's imagination in creating various kinds of products, such as coffee cups, children's toys, and metal tools. This research is focused on 3D printers that use plastic materials, especially PLA, and aims to evaluate the tensile strength of 3D printer products with ASTM D-638 type 1 standards. This research method involves two independent variables, namely temperature with a variation of 200˚ C, 220˚ C, and 240˚ C, as well as different layer thickness with a thickness of 0.1 mm, 0.2 mm, and 0.3 mm. Based on the research results, it was found that a temperature of 200˚C with a layer thickness of 0.1 mm had the highest average stress of 35.90 N/mm².
