OPTIMASI YIELD KALSIUM SULFAT PADA PROSES DEKALSIFIKASI CANE MOLASSES MELALUI SIMULASI REAKTOR STOIKIOMETRI CHEMCAD

PT Ajinomoto Indonesia Mojokerto Factory melakukan proses dekalsifikasi untuk menghilangkan kandungan kalsium sebagai pengotor dalam bahan baku cane molasses, dengan menghasilkan kalsium sulfat (CaSO₄) sebagai produk samping melalui reaksi irreversible menggunakan asam sulfat (H₂SO₄). Penelitian ini bertujuan melakukan simulasi untuk menentukan kombinasi optimum konsentrasi H₂SO₄, rasio massa H₂SO₄ terhadap cane molasses, dan kadar kalsium awal dalam cane molasses yang menghasilkan yield kalsium sulfat maksimum. Sebelum dilakukan simulasi proses, ketiga variabel tersebut dianalisis menggunakan perangkat lunak Minitab melalui pendekatan Design of Experiment (DOE) dengan metode Central Composite Design (CCD) pada lima level masing-masing variabel, untuk mengidentifikasi kombinasi paling berpengaruh terhadap reaksi. Titik optimum diperoleh pada konsentrasi H2SO4 sebesar 95%, rasio massa H2SO4 sebesar 10% terhadap massa cane molasses, dan kadar kalsium sebesar 8,3% terhadap massa cane molasses dengan yield teoritis sebesar 99,6013%. Hasil simulasi aktual di ChemCAD menunjukkan yield sebesar 80,10%, mengindikasikan perlunya validasi eksperimental terhadap model statistik guna memastikan kesesuaian proses terhadap kondisi riil industri.
