Plagiarism Policy
The JAEB Editorial Team recognizes that plagiarism is unacceptable and therefore establishes the following policy stating specific actions (penalties) if plagiarism is identified in an article submitted for publication in JAEB. Therefore, before submission, JAEB advises the Author to check for plagiarism independently. If the article is accepted, JAEB will check for plagiarism before publishing.
Definition:
Plagiarism is an intentional or unintentional act in obtaining or attempting to obtain credit or value for a scientific work, by citing part or all of the work and/or scientific work of another party that is recognized as their scientific work, without stating the source properly and adequately.
Therefore, then:
Articles must be original, have never been published, and are not in the process of awaiting publication elsewhere. Material taken verbally from other sources needs to be clearly identified so that it is different from the original text.
If plagiarism is identified, then, the Editor-in-Chief is responsible for reviewing the article and will approve the action according to the level of plagiarism detected, with the following guidelines:
Plagiarism Level:
- Plagiarizing part of a short sentence from another article without citing the source. Action: The author is given a warning and a request to change the text and cite it properly.
- Plagiarizing most of another article without proper citation and not citing the source. Action: The submitted article is rejected for publication in DJEP and the Author may be sanctioned to not be allowed to publish in JAEB
All authors of articles are responsible for the content of the articles they submit. If the Article is classified as plagiarized, then all authors will be subject to the same action.
If the Author is proven to have submitted a manuscript to JAEB while simultaneously submitting it to another Journal, and this is discovered during the reviewer process or after publication, then action is given according to point 2 above and the article is withdrawn.
If plagiarism is found outside the rules above, the JAEB editor has the right to impose sanctions according to the editorial team's policy.
