Abstract

Currently the air condition on our earth is getting worse day by day due to air pollution. Air pollution changes the composition (composition) of the atmosphere, where one or more polluting materials whose quantity and concentration can endanger the health of living things, damage property, reduce comfort in the air (Saeful et al, 2016). Air pollution is dominated by motor vehicle exhaust emissions. Motorized vehicles have now become a necessity for society. The growth rate of motor vehicle users continues to increase. This has also caused more and more motor vehicle users to make changes to parts of their vehicles, namely the exhaust, while based on the Minister of Environment Regulation it is stated that the permitted noise limit for daily use vehicles is a maximum of 90 dB. The increasing number of these vehicles will be directly proportional to the resulting air pollution and very high noise. This can endanger human health, safety, and peace. In this study, a microcontroller-based measuring instrument for measuring gas emission levels and noise levels of motor vehicles was created with an error percentage of (4.9%) HC, (8.06%) CO, and (6.6%) noise levels. The hope is that this tool can help automotive businesspeople easily find out the performance of the engine and the noise level of motorized vehicles.
