Publication Ethics

J-INDEKS follows the Core Practices outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to ensure the integrity, credibility, and transparency of the scholarly publishing process.

  1. Authorship and contributorship - J-INDEKS requires clear policies on authorship and contributorship, ensuring transparency around who contributed to the work.
  2. Conflicts of interest - J-INDEKS provides clear definitions of conflicts of interest and has established processes for handling conflicts of interest for authors, reviewers, editors, journals, and publishers. 
  3. Post-publication review - J-INDEKS allows post-publication discussions through letters to the editor, on-site debates, or external moderated platforms. 
  4. Data - J-INDEKS includes policies on data availability and promotes transparency and reproducibility of research.
  5. Peer review - J-INDEKS implements a double-blind peer-review process with two Reviewers, where the identities of authors and reviewers are kept anonymous.
  6. Plagiarism - J-INDEKS takes zero tolerance to act of plagiarism. To prevent that, the Editor will check the similarity index of the article where the index must be less than equal 25%.
  7. Research ethics - J-INDEKS maintains ethical oversight by implementing policies on consent to publication, publication on vulnerable populations, ethical conduct of research using animals, ethical conduct of research using human subjects, handling confidential data, and ethical business/marketing practices.
  8. Journal management - J-INDEKS maintains an archiving policy to preserve the published articles in reputable digital archives, ensuring long-term accessibility and availability.
  9. Publication practices - J-INDEKS follows an open-access policy, allowing free and unrestricted access to its published articles. The journal applies the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike (CC-BY-SA) license to ensure authors' rights.
  10. Diversity (DEIA) - J-INDEKS committes to the values of diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility (DEIA) and committes to providing a welcoming environment with opportunities for engagement at all levels.
