Generative AI Usage Policy

Jurnal ELTEK recognizes that generative artificial intelligence (generative AI) tools may support research and scholarly publishing. Generative AI may assist authors, reviewers, and editors, but it must not replace human expertise, judgment, accountability, or responsibility.

For Authors

Authors may use generative AI tools to support manuscript preparation and research activities, including language polishing, translation, literature organization, content structuring, coding, or data analysis, provided that appropriate human oversight and verification are maintained.

Generative AI must not be used to:

• fabricate, manipulate, or misrepresent data, results, references, or research findings;

• generate or modify research content in a way that replaces the authors' original scientific reasoning, analysis, or interpretation;

• replace human scientific judgment or accountability.

All generative AI outputs must be carefully reviewed and verified by the authors. Generative AI tools must not be listed as authors or co-authors.

Disclosure Requirement: Substantive use of generative AI in manuscript preparation must be declared in Acknowledgement section:

During the preparation of this work, the author(s) used [TOOL NAME] in order to [REASON]. After using this tool, the author(s) reviewed and edited the content as needed and take(s) full responsibility for the content of the publication.

When AI is used as part of the research methodology or analysis, its use should also be appropriately described in the Methods section. Basic grammar, spelling, and punctuation checks do not require disclosure.

Authors must not provide confidential, personal, unpublished, or otherwise sensitive research material to public or unauthorized generative AI systems.

For Reviewers

Reviewers must protect the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and review materials. Manuscripts or any confidential manuscript content must not be uploaded to public or unauthorized generative AI systems.

Generative AI tools may be used only as a supportive aid, such as for language improvement or background literature exploration, provided that confidentiality is maintained and human oversight is preserved. Generative AI must not replace the reviewer's independent scientific assessment, critical analysis, or recommendations.

Reviewers remain fully responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and content of their review reports.

For Editors

Editors must protect the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and editorial materials and must not upload confidential manuscript content to public or unauthorized generative AI systems.

Generative AI tools may be used for limited supportive tasks, such as language improvement or administrative assistance, provided that confidentiality is maintained. Generative AI must not replace editorial judgment, peer-review assessment, or editorial decision-making.

Editors remain fully responsible and accountable for the editorial process, final decisions, and communication with authors.
