Post-Publication Discussion

Jurnal Teknik Kimia dan Lingkungan (JTKL) acknowledges that scientific communication and critical evaluation of research continue after an article has been published. The journal welcomes constructive, evidence-based, and professional discussions of published work to promote scientific progress, clarify research findings, and strengthen the reliability of knowledge in chemical engineering and environmental engineering. In handling post-publication discussions, JTKL is guided by the principles of publication ethics and relevant recommendations from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Readers and researchers may submit letters to the editor or brief scholarly commentaries concerning articles previously published in JTKL. Submissions should present clear arguments, relevant scientific evidence, and a direct connection to the article being discussed. All submissions are subject to editorial evaluation to assess their relevance, scientific contribution, accuracy, and adherence to professional and ethical standards. The editorial team reserves the right to request revisions or decline submissions that do not meet these requirements.

Authors of the original articles will generally be offered the opportunity to respond to substantive comments or criticisms concerning their work. When considered appropriate by the editorial team, accepted commentaries and corresponding author responses may be published and linked to the original articles to ensure transparency and facilitate continued scholarly dialogue.

If a post-publication discussion raises concerns regarding the validity of research findings, methodological errors, data accuracy, or potential violations of publication ethics, JTKL will assess the matter in accordance with its policies on corrections, expressions of concern, and retractions. Appropriate action will be taken when necessary to maintain the accuracy, transparency, and integrity of the scientific record.

Through this policy, JTKL aims to foster an open and responsible scholarly environment in which published research can be critically examined, scientific disagreements can be addressed professionally, and the quality and credibility of scientific publications can be continuously improved.
