Complaints and Appeals

ELKOLIND takes complaints and appeals seriously. According to the journal's Code of Ethics, editors receive, review, and follow up on complaints from all parties involved in the publication.

Complaints

Authors, reviewers, readers, and other parties may complain about the editorial process, the conduct of editors, reviewers, or authors, or the content of a published article. Please send the complaint in writing to the Editor-in-Chief through the Contact page, stating the manuscript or article concerned and the reason for the complaint.

The editorial office acknowledges the complaint, and the Editor-in-Chief reviews it impartially. Editors or reviewers who are involved in the complaint do not take part in handling it. The complainant is informed of the outcome.

Appeals against editorial decisions

The editor's decision on a manuscript is final. However, an author who believes a decision was based on a factual error or on bias may send a written appeal to the Editor-in-Chief, giving specific reasons and supporting evidence. Disagreement with the decision alone is not a ground for appeal.

An appeal is considered by the Editor-in-Chief together with an editor or reviewer who was not involved in the original decision. The decision on the appeal is final.

Complaints about suspected research misconduct are handled under the Allegation of Research Misconduct policy.
