Conflict of Interest

ELKOLIND upholds the value of neutrality: the publication process must be free from conflicts of interest. A conflict of interest exists when a financial, professional, or personal relationship could influence, or appear to influence, a person's judgement.

Authors

Authors must declare any financial or personal relationships that could influence the work, including funding sources and relationships with companies whose products or services are discussed. If there is nothing to declare, the manuscript should say so (for example, "The authors declare no conflict of interest").

Reviewers

Reviewers must decline to review a manuscript if they have a conflict of interest, for example a recent collaboration with the authors, a shared institution, or a competing interest. Reviewers must not use unpublished information from a manuscript for their own benefit.

Editors

Editors must withdraw from handling a manuscript when they have a conflict of interest, including when they are an author or work in the same institution as an author. In this case, another editor handles the manuscript.
