Complaints & Appeals
JARTEL is committed to handling complaints and appeals fairly, confidentially, and promptly, following COPE guidance.
Appeals Against Editorial Decisions
Authors who believe a rejection decision was based on a misunderstanding or factual error may submit one appeal per manuscript.
- Send the appeal to the Editor-in-Chief at [email protected] within 30 days of the decision, with the subject line "Appeal – [manuscript ID]".
- Explain clearly why the decision should be reconsidered and respond point by point to the reviewers' and editor's comments, providing supporting evidence.
- The Editor-in-Chief, together with an editor not involved in the original decision, will review the appeal and may seek an additional independent reviewer.
- Authors will receive a final decision within four weeks. The decision on an appeal is final.
Complaints
Complaints may concern the editorial process, delays, the conduct of editors or reviewers, or published content. Complaints should be sent by email to the journal with the details of the issue and any evidence.
- The journal acknowledges receipt within five working days.
- The complaint is investigated by the Editor-in-Chief, or by the publisher's representative if the complaint concerns the Editor-in-Chief.
- The complainant is informed of the outcome and of any action taken, normally within four weeks.
If a complainant remains dissatisfied, the matter may be escalated to the publisher, Politeknik Negeri Malang, or referred to COPE.
